Maria Callas
There are definitely a lot of beautifully voiced operatic sopranos out there, but it is not what matters so much for me. I am looking for great musicianship, techniques, and the ability to do wide repertoire of operas. And Maria Callas satisfied my desire with flying colors. Although her voice is not the most beautiful and is actually flawed and had declined over time, it was her singing that made me appreciate and love classical music. It was her who exposed me to a lot of things about music. And it was through her that I realized, fame is not really everything.
